Ford :T - Render Project

This is my first render project since the computer which did take a bit of time!
I wanted to build and render one of those old cars. The image above is what i based most of the geometry on.

I took the unusuall step of 'carving' the shape out of a cuboid shape. I started with the cuboid and just pushed and pulled and distorted the shape untill it look like the main common shape. Then components were made added and copied such as the wheels and the side steps. By doing this my imagination quickly ran away and i added more 'golden' bits than had originally been on the car which only came in black.

The cogs at the front were added to make the render more interesting.

The render process was difficult because i needed i proper environment to render this in and i knew the stone floor really suited it. But things changed and the end render was quite different!

The progress:

Final (unusual) render:

The unusuall part is that i put the car as a model in a litle show case! And i am very proud with the result!

Battle Bot - DieSector

This battle bot was based on the Diesector from battlebots the TV series. Diesector was one of the winners from season 5 destroying with its main weapons - The two powerfull mallets on either side of the body and the 'Jaws' at the front.

I wanted to put as much detail into this as posible so i took my time on the wheels and the hammers. Unfortunatly i couldn't reproduce it to size but it still looks Approximately the same. The jaws look completly different and would look better with little teeth to help crush!

And heres the render -not very good considering you can make things look life-like with podium:

Wind Turbine

This project is for the Sketchup 3d Challenge 020. I was late starting the project and only had a few days to come up with the design. It is simple but quite funky - i think! It is designed so that it is a wind turnine as well as allowing visiters to come up and view the scenery around them.

The render wasn't hard at all because there were no lights (artificial) to render so i just ajusted the lighting after a few renders and heres what i got;

Project : Bedroom Set

This project was my first entry for the sketchup 3D challenge. I had originally designed a Dark red theme for the room but then changed it when it looked dark and to old!

This was a long time ago so unfortunatly i don't have a picture of the old version but heres the render :

The set of drawers/wardrobe are set out like steps as you can see in the render. There IS a window 'arround' the head board of the bed, but has blinds on. The windows in the ceiling are designed to make the room not only look brighter but to look large and spacious.

This model is availible for download at the 3D warehouse. - Download link page ( and more info!)

My Most Recent Project

My most recent project was the interior render of a computer. Now you can imagine the many components i needed to make for that, and there were many but i was a bit lazy and skipped a few.

Heres what the whole model looks like ; [all view.jpg]

Here are all the components on the motherboard; [component view.jpg]

And heres the interior view (original render scene) [interior view.jpg]

The render process did take a bit of time because i wanted to make it look perfected. I wanted it to look erry with suspicious little glows here and there...

My progress towards the 'perfect' render;

What i Do;

As you may of guessed i am a 3d modeler specialising in Sketchup. I mostly model for the render but sometimes other reasons. Here you can view some if not all of my models and renders. Please feel free to comment on my renders, i may also be launching a light render contest for all those budding renderers who don't take it really seriously!

Heres and example of my rendering...
